This week I suffered a strain in my left shoulder. It hurts with pulling down, so things like closing the car door or doing pull-ups don't feel great. Funny thing, the injury did not come from doing the program, it came from working at a bad angle and using my arms to apply traction rather than using my body weight. I was able to do pull-ups during one of the workouts, it did not feel great but I went to workout to do "the Challenge" and I could not manage to do wide grip pull-ups. So does this mean that I have crashed and burned, that I am not going to finish P90X3.....NO! I am doing what I often recommend to my patients to do. I have returned to activity but modified it so I can do it without pain or making the injury worse. Instead of pull-ups, I am pulling on tubing. The tubing is hard work, but not as much as doing the pull-ups and I do not get any pain at all. My injury is getting better but I am not sure if I will be able to go back to pull-ups before the program ends. Stay tuned!
