Week Thirteen

Feb 27, 2017

DONE!!!!! Wow a month late but it feels awesome to know that I did 90 days of exercise.  If you want to get it all done in 90days you have to plan better than I did.  What I really took away from this program is I cannot exercise every day....that is just too much with my busy life.  Also, I did not factor in that holidays (travel and family time) detract from what you can schedule sometimes. My big motivation for choosing this program was that it would consume a huge part of my winter.  As a runner, I have no trouble making time to run in the spring, summer and fall, but when it gets cold and dark, sometimes motivation as well as the cold factor into making it hard to get exercising.  Over the years I have struggled to run through the winter or make time for other regular exercise.  P90X3 was challenging but with the commitment, variety of workouts and reasonable length there was no excuse for not exercising through the winter months.  You need to find your "fit" and keep active too, don't let the seasons dictate or limit your health and activities!

So what am I going to do next now that I done with this program? I am glad you asked.  By the time you will have read this, I will have taken a week off (although I have run a few times) and I am going to do it again.  It was a fun program and it will take me well into the spring and help me be stronger for running.  The next big challenge will be the 22 day pushup challenge.  I was challenged to be part of this several months ago by a friend but I did not want to do it till I was done with P90X3 as I was not sure how I would fare.  If you have not heard about it, it is a challenge to raise awareness about the suicide rate in our military, veterans and first responders.  It is also to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Program.  Rather than name people and challenge them, I will invite you to follow me on twitter and join with me in this cause. Tweet me if you join in or encourage me as I keep pushing.  I will not be doing videos per se but using the boomerang app to show a quick clip of my push-up dejour.  I am going to try and do different types of push-ups almost every day (although some will be repeats). Check out the web site:  http://woundedwarriors.ca/ways-to-give/22-push-ups/

Here is the first of Ed's Wounded Warrior Challenge:
