What is Physiotherapy?

May 04, 2020

Why are physical therapists essential to your recovery?

What can a physiotherapist do for you, and who are the people behind the profession?

Through in- person or virtual care, here is what we are…..

We are injury and disability management specialists!

We are licensed professionals, having completed 7 years or more of post secondary education. Plus years of continuing education in a variety of specialties.

We are teachers; supporting and educating you in a way that helps your body recover, heal or realign. We believe your knowledge is essential to your healing and aim to explain how our body functions and how everything is connected.

We are pain and movement specialists; seeking to explain the nature , source, quality and usefulness of your pain patterns, so we can help you better manage your day to day experiences with confidence.

We are rehabilitation and exercise specialists; helping to give you the very best and most specific exercises and movements to help with ‘your’ specific issues!

We are manual therapists: using our own hands, or sometimes needling techniques to move, mobilize, stretch, massage and manipulate joints, and soft tissues to increase your mobility and get you on ‘your’ road to recovery.

We are consultants; to help you make choices, along with input and referrals to other health care professionals or diagnostic imaging to give you the best, most holistic approach to your health issues.

We are mandated by our college, who provide guidance, training in infection control procedures, and are always putting the safety of our team and patients as a top priority.

... but most of all, we are here to HELP you,  and to GUIDE you, with timely care for whatever physical issues you may be experiencing; from acute injures, work related, sports related, concussions, vestibular rehabilitation, pelvic health, shoulder health, motor vehicle accidents, post surgical, or simply helping you fix those old nagging injuries or weaknesses that keep plaguing your day to day life!

As you can see, we are many things, and we are here for YOU!

Book with your Physiotherapist today, and you will never regret the investment you make in your health!
